Black and white

It was the hottest couple of days in the year but I spent an enjoyable few hours in Cardiff Bay capturing a some images of subjects that I am not familiar with. It is always a boost to the creative juices taking on a new subject and seeing what can be done, looking for angles and compositions that please my eye and hopefully yours too. As I was not there specifically for photography, these are all hand held and shot on the light weight Fuji X-T1 with the superb kit lens that ......

A few days away in Aberystwyth.The skies were grey until the day we left but it was great to have a short break and the dogs loved the beach, especially the expansive sands at Borth. It is also good to leave the big camera and lenses behind and just carry the lightweight Fuji and a single lens. Having that restriction is also a freedom as it is no longer possible to worry about which bit of kit would be best for the job and it helps to recharge the batteries of being able to see an image in a si ......
